Tooth coloured fillings

Tooth coloured fillings can be used to replace decay or to replace an existing silver filling. The enhanced cosmetics are the main benefit of tooth coloured fillings. We at the Wilton Dental Surgery advise that tooth coloured fillings are best when the cavity is small to medium in size.

Crowns

Crowns are used to restore severely broken teeth. There are many choices of crown material and they all give function and durability. Porcelain crowns also give an enhanced cosmetic result as they give an appearance of a natural tooth.

Bridges

A veneer is a new front surface for a tooth, custom made from porcelain. Veneers are often used to lighten tooth colour, to close gaps and to ‘correct the position’ of a tooth, by means of an illusion. Veneers can and do make a huge change to the smile of a patient.

A denture is a removable prosthesis or appliance which is made to replace natural teeth. A lot of time and care is taken when planning the type of appliance, and when actually making it.
